Polo Co-op was established in 1976 to sell chemicals, fertilizer, and fuel. The company began selling Pioneer seed in 1997 and propane in 1998. In 2005, Erich Miatke joined Polo as the Pioneer Sales Representative.
“Honestly, we have the best team in the area,” says Erich. “Customers love that we’re local and have the best service and competitive pricing, but it’s our people who really help us stand out from the competition.
“We all love to help farmers succeed,” he adds. “That means maximizing their returns through superior seed — corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and so on — and protecting those crops from challenges like insects, disease, and weeds.”
Polo Co-op is a sponsor of the Ogle County Fair, along with the town’s baseball and softball fields. The company is also proud to support the local FFA and 4H Club.
Polo Co-op has received the Pacesetters Club and Executive Club awards from Pioneer.
